“My home makes me happy”
Amblecote Gardens extra care facility in Little Hulton, Salford is helping to dramatically improve tenant lives.
The facility, set up over five years ago, provides 66 affordable homes with tailored support to help people become the best they can be.
In our video Martin, tells us about some of the facilities available and how living there has helped change his life for the better.
“My home makes me happy. I’m happy with having so much space,” he says.
Each tenant receives round-the-clock care and a personalised health plan to help maintain independence and quality of life. This includes a dedicated on-site support team, state of the art security system, a fresh and healthy meal, regular social events and private gardens to relax.
Having a tailored support plan has had a positive impact on Martin’s physical and mental health too, boosting confidence and creating new possibilities.
“Helping on reception is my favourite thing to do,” he says. “I enjoy doing Music in Mind, going to the Top Club and Curling.”
Amblecote Gardens was designed to be integrated into the wider community to ensure tenants can live independently in secure and safe homes. There’s easy access to other facilities such as shops, banks, cafes, GP surgery and the community church too.
At ForHousing, we are committed to helping people live independently in their own homes for as long as possible and to providing facilities to meet individual unique needs.
