Working together to prevent homelessness – Care Leavers

National Care Leavers week is the perfect opportunity to raise awareness of the challenges faced by care leavers as they begin to live on their own.

However, it also an opportunity to share their success stories! For this year’s National Care Leavers Week we are sharing Logan’s inspirational story.

Providing tenancies, life skills and support to young people leaving care is really important to us.

In 2017, we began providing tenancies, life skills and support to young people leaving care and embarking on their journey to independence. In 2020, we committed to the Greater Manchester Housing Provider’s Care Leavers Pledge.

We offer a place to call home, a chance to learn new skills and access to mentorship and employment opportunities to young people leaving care.

Working in partnership with Salford City Council, a number of young people have been able to reach their full potential. People just like Logan.

By putting the young person at the heart of all we do, we’ve been able to give care leavers like Logan the same opportunities and support as a young person with close family.
