Working together to prevent homelessness – Shared Accommodation

We understand that when people find themselves homeless or sleeping rough, it can be harder to get back on their feet.

We are working in partnership with Knowsley Council and The Whitechapel Centre to provide high quality, shared accommodation to support rough sleepers.

The scheme is providing six homeless people with fully furnished shared accommodation with Wi-Fi, and access to support including advice around debt, money management and welfare benefits and help with addiction and wellbeing issues.

It gives people the chance to learn how to live independently before moving on to a permanent home of their own.

One of those living in the accommodation was Stephen.

Stephen became homeless and struggled with addiction after leaving prison.

After receiving support from the team whilst living in the accommodation,  Stephen is now clean from drugs and is carving out a positive future for himself.
