Three ways to stay warm in your home

This winter, energy bills will be higher due to rising fuel costs and we want to support you with reducing your energy usage. We’ve pulled together a few cost effective ways for you to keep you and your home warmer this winter.

Use timers on your central heating

If your central heating has a timer, set it to turn on half an hour before you wake up or get home from work, on a low to medium temperature. This is more energy-efficient than setting it up really high for a shorter period of time.

Block out draughts

Draughts can come from some unexpected places and are one of the quickest ways to lose heat from your home. Windows, doors and letterboxes can let in the cold air. Use draught excluders to help combat the chill and ensure you stay warm this season.

Use radiator reflectors

Did you know that when a radiator is on, it directs heat through the wall first instead of into a room?

You can purchase radiator reflectors from your local hardware store that help direct heat back into the room, helping to reduce your energy bills and warm up your home quicker. Make sure the radiators are not covered by curtains or furniture as these will block the heat.

Issues such as low boiler pressure and frozen condensate pipes can happen more frequently in the winter months.
