Where you can find support during the festive period

You may find yourself struggling to pay for food or feeling lonely during the festive period. There are organisations, charities and your local council who can help you. Take a look at your area below to see what support is available:

Salford

Food Parcels – Between Christmas and New Year, you can get a food parcel from Broughton Hub, Swinton Gateway and Walkden Gateway on Wednesday 27, Thursday 28 and Friday 29 December between 10AM-2PM. Food parcels are also available on Saturday 30 December from Broughton Hub and Walkden Gateway.

The Spirit of Salford helpline is available for you to get help, support and advice on issues that you may be facing at the moment. You can call 0800 952 1000 between 10am- 2pm for customer services on Wednesday 27, Thursday 28 and Friday 29 December. On Saturday 23 and Saturday 30 December it will be available between 9am -1pm.

Caritas Diocese of Salford work alongside people from across Greater Manchester and Lancashire who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage, discrimination and homelessness. Click here to see what support is available.

Oldham

Stockbridge Village

Every Wednesday, Knowsley Chamber are hosting Warm Winter Wednesday where free support is available as well as free hot and cold food. The sessions take place at 10 Vicarage Place, Prescot L34 1LA. Contact them on social media to find out more.

The Food Club in Stockbridge Village has become an important food bank for some people in the local area. The club is run by The Big Help project with local volunteers and ForHousing staff volunteering time to help run the service. The food bank will be open 27 December between 12pm-2pm, click here to find directions.
