Be Proud Awards – introducing the winners of the Fred Jones (Greatest Project)!

There are so many important projects taking place in the ForHousing communities that bring people together and you all voted for so many inspiring projects as part of the Be Proud Awards to win the Fred Jones (Greatest Project) Award.

Here are our winners of the Fred Jones (Greatest Project) Award:

The winner of the Fred Jones award in Salford is Inara Dundure.

Inara has been volunteering for over five years in Little Hulton working on a variety of projects to improve the community. Her projects range from providing the community with dog poo dispensers to keep the area clean to looking after elderly and disabled people in the area. Not only that, she also kickstarted her own Neighbourhood Watch in June!

The winner of the Fred Jones award in Stockbridge Village is the Recycling Uniform Project.

In Easter this year, a group of parents set up a scheme to recycle school uniform, supporting people in the community to reduce the hefty costs of buying new uniform. The group of parents have needed no extra support, applying for funding themselves to support the community with their drive and passion.

The winner of the Fred Jones award in Fitton Hill is the Dad and Lads Group.

The Dads and Lads Group provides a space where a group of men can meet up every Wednesday night to talk about parenting, mental health plus much more. It is also a space for them to support one another and form great friendships.

They also raise money for charitable causes, with the group stepping out of their comfort zone by performing a dance routine in front of over 100 people at a charity event in July!

Every single project nominated has a huge impact on the community by making it a happier and better place to live in. Tomorrow, we will be sharing details of the winners for the Maureen Clunan Award (Social Enterprise Award) so keep an eye out on social media and our website!
