Greener days are coming! Future Matters podcast available now

We’re excited to launch our Future Matters podcast. We’re bringing together sustainability experts and members of our community to chat everything green.

What’s the podcast about?

In season one we’ll address fuel poverty; social exclusion and the importance of prioritising inclusivity in the sustainability space; how to boost your health while taking care of the environment; how decarbonisation affects the social housing sector; climate activism and justice; eco-friendly travel; social value; and Salford City Council’s climate action plan.

We’ll also touch on current affairs and share best practice so we can all learn and move forward together as a sector.

So, who’s the host?

The podcast will be led by Mark Lowe, Director of Asset and Sustainability at ForHousing.

Why are you launching this podcast?

It’s Mark’s hope that the podcast will become an invaluable resource for colleagues, stakeholders, and partners who want to do their bit in saving our planet.

We’re looking forward to providing a platform that brings regional and national voices together, in one space, to help us keep up the momentum in our journey towards achieving net zero by 2035.

When is it out?

Episode one is out now! Our first guest is Stephen England, ForHousing tenant and customer committee member.

Stephen joined the Customer Committee at the start of the year. Outside of this role, he works as a supply chain transport manager.

Committee members are encouraged to champion issues important to them and be the voice of tenants amongst the ForHousing Board. Part of their role will now include consulting on “green” projects, so we wanted to pick Stephen’s brain on the impact of climate change within his community.

What’s the episode about?

This episode also covers what the housing sector should be doing to address climate change, and what landlords can do to help tenants “go green”.

The podcast is available to listen now.

If you like the podcast, don’t forget to give it a thumbs up on whatever platform you listen on. We’d really appreciate your support getting the message out there.

Check back every Thursday for a new episode – we’ll see you there!
