The allotment in Salford giving veterans a fresh purpose

Sixteen tenants and staff across our communities have been recruited to the Carbon Community!

The first session with be happening in August and in-depth carbon training will be provided, so the members have all the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to get involved and to help their communities becoming greener.

To continue the momentum we’ve been building since we launched our Future Matters campaign in October 2021, we’ve also:

  • Kicked off three decarbonisation pilots across 100+ of our homes to play our part in supporting the government reach NetZero by 2050.
  • Created a bi-weekly Positive Planet Newsletter and shared over 300 sustainability tips, tricks and advice to make a change in your own homes.
  • Refreshed our green strategy to ensure we are working at the top of our game.
  • Supported 504 households to save £32,693 on energy bills.
  • Appointed an Interim Director of Sustainability to help drive our green strategy forwards.

The panel aims to create better, greener homes and places for communities which you will hopefully see in the upcoming months!

If we all make small changes, we can help our planet for the future.
