Our journey to making ForHousing an inclusive and diverse place to live

At ForHousing, we aim to be an inclusive organisation that makes more things possible for more people. We are committed to challenging inequalities and enabling people to reach their full potential.

To do this, it’s important that we recognise the impact of our decisions on people living and working in ForHousing homes and communities. By understanding this, we can make sure that we treat everyone with respect and that everyone is granted the same opportunities.

Over the past few months, we have been reviewing and updating our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy by listening to and engaging with the communities we serve. The strategy is part of our commitment to understanding tenants, customers and communities and designing services that take their needs into account.

We are pleased to share with you the updated EDI Strategy 2022-25 is now finished. It is available to read on Our Documents area here.  If you would like more information about how to use this area, please take a look at the video guide.

The strategy is underpinned by our compliance with the Equalities Act 2010, which protects people from discrimination when accessing public services and in wider society.

However, we are passionate about creating a well-rounded and considered strategy that is not limited to compliance and legislation and instead one that is more ambitious, inclusive and representative of the diverse world around us.

The strategy is a key tool in giving us direction on how we, as a landlord, will deliver our strategic outcomes in an equitable, diverse, and inclusive way. Visit Our Performance area to find more about how we are performing against these outcomes.

By working with you, we have developed a strategy that will help us create communities where differences are respected, valued, and celebrated.
