ForHousing appoints a new Director of Governance and Assurance to its Executive Management Team 

ForHousing has appointed Gemma Burton-Connolly to its Executive Management Team. Gemma joins as Executive Director of Governance and Assurance.

The role will see Gemma take on responsibility for ForHousing’s Governance and Assurance and Health and Safety functions, from the beginning of September.

Gemma, who has 12 years’ experience of working in the housing sector, joins ForHousing from G1/V1 rated housing association, Abri. Prior to this, Gemma, who is passionate about mentoring others to succeed in their careers, worked in the legal world, covering issues including human rights.

With extensive knowledge of operating within complex legal structures, Gemma also brings to the table experience of working in charities, community benefit societies, private companies and PLCs as well as regulated environments.

Gemma said: “I’m really passionate about the importance of effective governance and focusing on listening to tenants and colleagues to deliver this. That’s why I’m proud to join an organisation that puts tenants at the heart of its decision-making and is dedicated to providing safe, well-maintained homes and equitable and efficient services.
