Be Proud Awards – introducing your winners!

There are some truly amazing people within your communities, and we want to make sure that everyone is recognised for their achievements and contributions to making where you live a better, brighter place. That’s why we brought back the Be Proud Awards to recognise these achievements in your communities.  Over the past few months, you nominated in your hundreds to shine a light on those within your communities that have made a huge difference to the areas you live.

Over the next week, we will be taking a closer look at the heart-warming stories behind the winners and the differences they have made in their neighbourhoods! It was tough to choose as each nominee has made a huge difference to so many lives.

This year we are introducing the legacy award for an amazing gentleman named John Hughes who sadly passed away on Thursday 13th October. John devoted his spare time over the last 30 years to coaching rugby and football in which resulted in the creation of FH Bulldogs with his son David. John’s aim was to provide children and young people a place where they could be safe, keep fit, learn team skills to carry them through life and be part of the Bulldog’s family.

The development of the home ground and clubhouse is his legacy. He made it his mission to give young people the power and motivation to be the future of the club. John worked tirelessly to achieve this and now. To this day he has accomplished his goal to Bulldogs sit at  the heart of the community.

John’s legacy will be present within the community for many years to come with his work making a huge difference to peoples lives and we would like to acknowledge all his work with this award.

Keep an eye out on social media and our website this week to find out more about the winners that make a huge difference to your communities!
