Keeping you safe in your home

Keeping you safe in your home and delivering on what matters to you is a key priority. Our Building and Customer Safety team continue to ensure high-rise blocks are well maintained and safe, completing all compliance checks.

An action plan is in place to ensure we achieve the deadlines set out by the Building Safety Act. We have already started to register relevant buildings with the Building Safety Regulator, the deadline for completion is October 2023.

By listening to you and working together, we have held ten Building Safety Tenant Forum sessions across all 17 of our high-rise blocks. The Forum works with us to support block inspections, where we feedback on any issues, and encourage you to tell us what matters to you. Forum members have worked with us to develop safety information for all high-rise tenants and we keep them up to date with any changes to legislation, such as the installation of wayfinding signs for the Fire Service.

We want to listen to your opinions and understand your feelings, and for you to be happy with the service you receive, so throughout the year we held drop-in sessions with 75 high-rise tenants contacting us about issues such as repairs and anti-social behaviour.  We also serviced and maintained all sprinkler systems in all high-rise blocks.

We also carried out 496 other block inspections, including low-rise blocks, and completed 242 actions. This included 133 repairs of stairways and clearing items from hallways and landings to ensure fire safety.
