Living green

The environment we live in matters to us, and so does your wellbeing.

Climate change is one of the biggest issues ForHousing communities will face in the future, and we want to play our part in minimising the impact and creating safe, well maintained and sustainable homes for you and your family.

Did you know the UK government has pledged to reach Net Zero by 2050.

They’re aiming to remove as much carbon from the atmosphere as possible. The best way to do better is through decarbonisation – reducing the amount of energy we use in our everyday lives and committing to making greener choices.

We want to empower you to feel confident and able to save money and the environment, making your corner of the world a better, safer place to live for generations to come.

Decarbonisation means reducing the amount of energy and resources that we use. It focuses on removing as much carbon from the atmosphere as possible.

The Government have set a goal of bringing all greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050.

Climate change is how the temperature and typical weather patterns adjust based on “human activities” such as burning fossil fuels (natural gas, oil, and coal) or agriculture, deforestation and a pile up of waste.

It saves you money…

Reducing the amount of water, gas, and electricity you use can save you money on utility bills.

For example, just turning off the lights when you leave a room or turning off electrical appliances like TVs, computers and fans can save up to £15 a year.

Even switching out your light bulbs to LEDs instead of halogen bulbs can save up to 80% in how much energy they use.

It saves the environment…

By using less energy, you can have a big impact on reducing the effects of global warming, which causes climate change.

It saves our future…

We want to guarantee a bright future for the next generation. By cutting down on energy use now, we can make the world a better place for our children, and their children.
