At ForHousing, we positively impact lives of social housing tenants and put them at the heart of our decision making. We know we can always do better. By working with tenants, to listen to their opinions and feelings we will make positive changes, to make sure they feel satisfied with our services and trust us to deliver on promises.
We know that together we can make a difference. Here’s what we have been doing so far:
- Involved tenants from across our involvement groups met at our Tenant Away Day on Thursday 2 February, to discuss how we can work together to make a difference. Our different involvement groups, Scrutiny, Community Voice and Customer Committee shared what they do and why they do it; and took part in key workshops on engagement and communication.
- Our Together with Tenants Charter launched in April 2023. It has been developed by listening and working together with tenants, to make a difference and create services that are person-centred, inclusive, and work. The Charter has five themes, with a set of commitments from us to make change happen following the Charter consultation process with a wide range of tenants. It also outlines how will measure our performance against what we said we were going to do, to make sure tenants can hold us to account. To read more about it from a tenant’s perspective, click here.
- We’ve launched our new Scrutiny model, which allows tenants to be the voice of their community, make positive changes to our services and have their voices heard. Through our new Scrutiny process, they will be able to review what we do and why we do it, influencing what happens to their home and community, and putting them at the heart of our decision making. Scrutiny exercises can include damp and mould and complaints, plus other service areas. Tenants will take a deep dive into both services and working with us, they will make change happen by making an action plan. To read more about Scrutiny, click here.
Tenant satisfaction and the delivery of quality social housing is at the core of everything we do. By listening and working together with tenants, we can provide customer-focused, excellent and equitable homes whilst empowering tenants to feel heard about things that matter to them.
