Would you like to influence ForHousing’s services and make change happen? Be the voice of your community and together we can make a difference.
Scrutiny will give you the opportunity to be the voice of your community, make positive changes to our services and have your voice heard. Through our Scrutiny process, you will be able to review what we do and why we do it, and make recommendations – influencing what happens to your home and community, and putting you at the heart of our decision making.
There’s three ways you can get involved and RAISE it:
- Become a Scrutiny Partner – You can become a core volunteer and work with us to set out what will be scrutinised, this could be key services such as repairs and complaints. You will also be key to holding us to account, making sure we do what we say we’re going to do. You will be central to our approach to Scrutiny, working alongside us to make key decisions.
- Be a member of a Core Group – You will be able to take part in specific Scrutiny exercises about a particular service we offer alongside key partners. This may be one you have recently received yourself or that you have a particular interest in. You will work with different teams to review their service and make recommendations on how the service being scrutinised can be improved.
- Wider involvement – You may not have the time to get involved in a review but still want to let us know about your experiences by completing a survey or joining a focus group.
Your involvement will help us make an action plan to deliver your recommendations, which will be supported by our Customer Committee, a group of tenants who work with us to co-create services and make sure we do what we say we’re going to do.
You can get involved from as little as 10 minutes to, two days per month, whatever suits you. Be the voice of your community, make things happen and RAISE IT. Have a say in shaping our delivery of services, together we can make a difference.
Depending on how much you would like to get involved, will depend on how you get involved. This can vary from focus groups, surveys and working together with us to draft an action plan for improvement. We will work with you through the Scrutiny process and together we will make things happen.
Register your interest by filling in a short form to get involved and help us make a difference to our services and positively impact the lives of all tenants.

This Scrutiny noise nuisance exercise was influenced by a recent Housing Ombudsman spotlight report on handling noise nuisance, where they made a series of recommendations for the housing sector. Our Community Safety Team asked Scrutiny to look at this report and scrutinise our approach to noise nuisance against these recommendations to check that we are providing an excellent service.
