It’s National Volunteers’ Week 2021, and we want to give thanks to all of the amazing people who dedicate their time to make more things possible for more people.
We believe that volunteers are the backbone of their communities. It’s important we take this time to celebrate all the wonderful things they do to help and support others.
But why volunteer? There are many reasons why people choose to spend their free time helping those who need it the most.
Volunteering is a fantastic way for you to give back to your community, and to make a real difference to people who need a bit of extra help and support.
If you’re looking for a way to stay social, and to connect with other people, then give volunteering a go! It could be a great way for you to make new friends and meet new people in your neighbourhood!
As well as helping others, volunteering can have a positive impact on your health and wellbeing. Giving something back to your community, whether that be your time or your skills, can boost your feelings of happiness and make you feel good.
Hear from Stephanie Tomlinson about how volunteering has helped her and the local community in the short video.
