It’s National Volunteers’ Week 2020 and we want to give thanks to the amazing people who dedicate their time to support others in their community.
Volunteering is so important for wellbeing and can make such a difference to people’s lives. We believe it’s the little things that can have the biggest impact.
But why volunteer? There are many reasons why people choose to spend their free time helping those who need it the most.
Volunteering is a fantastic way for you to give back to your community and to help those that may have nowhere else to turn.
If you’re looking for a way to stay social, and to connect with other people, then give volunteering a go! It could be a great way for you to make new friends and meet new people in your neighbourhood.
As well as helping others, volunteering can have a positive impact on your health and wellbeing. Giving something back to your community, whether that be your time or your skills, can boost your feelings of happiness and make you feel good.
For a few weeks, we’ve been asking all the amazing volunteers that we work with to let us know why they do what they do.
Keep an eye on our social media channels throughout the week to find out what they had to say, and to read their stories!
