Welcome to Gas Safety Week

At ForHousing we aim to create, safe and well maintained homes for you and your family. So, as part of Gas Safety Week, we wanted to share a few simple steps you can take to stay gas safe all year round:

  1. Let us complete your annual gas check
We carry out free yearly gas safety checks to make sure your appliances are working safely. It’s quick and important. Please make sure someone is home when your appointment is booked.
  2. Know the signs of a gas leak
If you smell gas or suspect a leak, open windows and doors, turn off the gas at the meter, and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 immediately.
  3. Use a carbon monoxide alarm
Carbon monoxide is invisible and very dangerous. Make sure you have a working alarm and test it regularly. If you do not have an alarm in your home, please contact us as soon as possible.
  4. Never try and fix your appliances yourself
Only Gas Safe registered engineers should carry out repairs. If you’re unsure, please contact us.

Your safety is our priority. If you have any concerns about gas in your home, please take a look at our gas safety page. If you would like to find out more details about your home’s safety information, check out the Safe Homes Portal linked below.
