Stockbridge is a community full of talented people. This talent shone through on Thursday 22 August, when Stockbridge Tenants Forum worked with our Community Development team to plan and put on a brilliant Gala Day, a fun day for all the community. The day was packed full of community groups who delivered games, offered goods for donations and information about their brilliant projects.

There was a buzz in the air as the community moved from stall to stall before going across to St Brigids Playing Field to take part in children focussed activities. This included donkey rides, an inflatable assault course from KABS and brilliant games from Kezza Zumba House. Children created butterflies and bugs on sticks with artists as part of Play Streets (half term holiday provision).

These, paired with children who took part in drumming sessions with Beatlife formed part of a mini-parade around the fun day that helped to celebrate the community and the pride felt in the area. This was followed by a fancy dress competition and performances by the local Morris Dancing groups who shared their talent for all to see.

One parent who was feeling the community spirit on the day said, ““I love the community of Stockbridge Village and events of bringing us all together. I feel that everyone on the farm knows everyone and when events like this happen it’s like a big catch up” and another saying,“It was an amazing day with loads on for the children and young people.  It was so lovely to see how much everyone came together, the atmosphere was brilliant, everyone was happy all talking to each other.”
