Salford Home Search service is temporarily suspended

The Salford Home Search website has been the victim of a cyber breach. To keep personal information safe the service has been temporarily suspended at the request of Salford City Council.

As a result of this breach some customers may have received fraudulent emails encouraging them to click links and add personal data to an alternative website if you have used the Salford Home Search website before. The company responsible are unable to confirm which personal data has been revealed. If you have clicked on links in recent emails from Salford Home Search, you should follow these steps:

1. Check your bank account for any suspicious activity.
2. If you clicked on a link and provided bank details, then contact your bank immediately.
3. If you have lost money report it immediately to Action Fraud.
4. Change your passwords if you have any other accounts with the same password as your Salford Home Search Account.
5. Consider signing up for free credit report, some reports will tell you if credit has been applied for in your name

Salford Home Search will remain suspended until Salford City Council is confident it is safe and can be used again and your data is safe.
