Repairs service

Everything we do is with you and your wellbeing in mind. We are following Government guidance daily and are closely monitoring the advice from Public Health England about how we can deliver services with the restrictions currently in place to contain the coronavirus.

The safety of everyone is crucial at this time. Following the latest Government advice, from Tuesday 24th March, we will only be carrying out emergency and urgent repairs.

This step is necessary to help us reduce the risk of spreading the virus and help protect you and other residents.

You can still report a repair by phone, email or live chat. If your repair is not classed as an emergency or urgent repair, it will still be logged but we will not be able to give you a time when the repair can be undertaken, once our service is back to normal following the end of the restrictions in place due to coronavirus.

We’ve put together a list of example emergency and urgent repairs to help you understand which repairs we will still undertake:

Emergency repairs – up to 24 hours

  • Total loss of power supply
  • An uncontainable water leak / burst
  • A blocked toilet (if there is only one in the home)
  • A gas leak (2 hours)

Urgent repairs – up to 3 days

  • Partial loss of power supply
  • Leaks that can be contained
  • Leaks from the roof
  • Loss of heating or hot water (8 hours)

If you need a repair and are unsure of what category it is in, please message us on our live chat, email us on hello@forhousing.co.uk or call us on 0300 123 5522, and one of our friendly service centre advisors will be able to help.

It’s very important we put things in place so we can come in to your home in a safe way. If you do have an emergency or urgent repair and are feeling unwell, with a cough, high fever or difficulty breathing, please do let us know.

Our reception service is also closed so please do not visit any ForHousing office without a pre-booked appointment. Anyone without an appointment should contact us via email, phone or live chat so we can support you in these ways.
