Play Streets

Play Streets – Fun for all of the family during the school holidays!

Along with a range of different partners, we’re proud to host Play Streets sessions for children and their families across Salford, Knowsley and Oldham.

From drum-along sessions, cooking, arts and crafts, sports and cycling, there’s plenty for kids to get involved in whatever their interests may be!

Every single session delivered is completely free to take part in, and where possible a free meal will be provided for each child.

In November 2021, we were delighted that Play Streets won the Charted Institute of Housing Northern Awards for ‘Working in Partnership’. This is a reflection of the amazing partnership work that goes on to bring Play Streets to families that wouldn’t be possible without the support from partners and local community groups. We’re excited to continue working together to deliver fun-filled sessions for children and families.

The majority of the sessions are for 5 – 11 year olds. Keep an eye on our website for the latest information as each holiday can be different and occasionally there are sessions for young people aged 12+. Some sessions will allow for parents/carers to attend with younger siblings. We generally ask for parents/carers to attend if your child is younger than eight years old.

All participants will receive a free meal e.g. packed lunch which has been made possible due to Holiday Activities Funding (HAF) funding. Please let your workshop organiser know if your child has any allergies.

No, it’s free thanks to funding from ForHousing, HAF, Liberty and generous donations. The programme would not be the same quality, be able to reach as far without the support from funders, so we thank them for their generosity!

We will always make sure to stay as up to possible with the current government guidance, and we kindly ask that you do not attend if you have or if your child has a cough, temperature or generally feeling unwell. There will be masks and sanitizer available and we ask everyone to take a lateral flow test before attending. Home testing kits are available from most pharmacies or through the government website.

We would love to know what you think – the good, the bad and all the bits in-between! This is how we learn what we are doing well and what we can improve on.
