You can now pay money towards your rent with Housing Perks and get a 10% discount at your favourite stores
Housing Perks, a free discount app, has launched a new feature that lets you pay money towards rent using the mobile app.
You can use the app to buy vouchers and save money. The savings you make by purchasing the voucher can be put towards your rent.
Tenants who use the feature can get a 10% discount on their first 3 vouchers at Aldi, Tesco, Asda and Morrisons.
How it works – step by step
- Sign up or log in to the Housing Perks App
- Select the retailer you would like from the list
- Enter how much you would like to have on the voucher , for example £100
- If the discount is 10%, you pay £90 for the voucher. If you have rent contributions turned on, you will pay £100 and £10 will be paid towards your rent
- A few seconds after purchasing the voucher will be available in your wallet
- You can use your voucher to pay for full or partial payment online or in store at the retailer
How to use the rent feature
If you already have the app, it’s quick and easy. You can switch on the automatic rent contributions feature by:
- Opening the Housing Perks app
- Clicking on the rent section in the menu
- Switch on rent contributions
Every time you buy a voucher, the savings you make will automatically be used as a contribution towards your rent. If you change your mind, you can switch it off.
If you’re not yet signed up, you will need to:
- Download the Housing Perks app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play store
- Press “Sign up”, enter your details and follow the on-screen instructions
- You will need your tenancy reference number, that can be found in letters you have received from us. You can also request it by using Live Chat on our website that can be found in the right-hand corner of the homepage or by calling 0300 123 5522
