We’re happy to share that we have now completed the works on a new £3.5 million development at Mayfield Avenue, Walkden, delivering 18 homes in Worsley for social rent.
The development consists of 12 one-bedroom apartments and six two-bedroom apartments, supporting Salford City Council’s efforts to deliver more truly affordable homes.
Construction began in March 2024 and is scheduled for completion in May 2025.
With a total value of £3.5 million, the project received £1.35 million in external funding from Homes England and also £270,000 from the Greater Manchester Combined Authority Brownfield Grant funding programme.
The new homes are all fully electric, with no gas supply, helping to reduce energy costs for tenants while also lowering their environmental impact.
Timber frame construction was also used throughout the project as a more sustainable and environmentally friendly material.
Designed by JDA Architects, the homes were built by developers GK Construction with additional support from Abode Consultancy.
