New COVID-19 guidance - 30 July

Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced that the Greater Manchester region - along with parts of West Yorkshire and East Lancashire face new restrictions from midnight following an 'increasing rate of transmission'.

The government’s measures mean different households will not be allowed to meet in homes or private gardens. Individual households will still be able to go to pubs and restaurants but not mix with another household.

If you start to show symptoms that may be Coronavirus you should book a test online. Where people test positive or have symptoms, or where people have been in contact with someone who has tested positive, they must ensure they follow the guidance on self-isolation.

The current advice is for anyone who has symptoms is to stay at home for ten days and book a test as soon as possible. Those people testing positive should self-isolate for ten days.

Members of their family and support bubble and others who they have been in contact with should self-isolate for 14 days, even if they access a test themselves and test negative. This is because it can take up to 14 days for symptoms to appear.
