Kindness matters

We love supporting Mental Health Awareness week every year and this year’s theme is kindness! We think there’s always time to be caring and thoughtful towards others, and to ourselves.

Kindness strengthens relationships, develops a sense of community and deepens solidarity; and at a time like this, it’s important that we show others just how much we care.

If you want to learn more about the difference being kind can have on your mental health and feelings of wellbeing, take a read of this ‘Kindness Matters’ guide.

Carrying out an act of kindness doesn’t need to be a huge gesture. Catching up with a loved one over a video call, having a natter over the phone or sending a simple text message can really help lift spirits and battle feelings of loneliness and isolation.

To hear other’s stories about the little things they’ve done to make a massive difference through acts of kindness, you can watch some short videos here. They made us smile big – we hope they do the same for you!

Staying digitally connected with the closest people in your life is one of the quickest ways to boost your wellbeing, keeping you feeling positive. It’s also a simple and easy way to show your friends and family that you’re there to support them.

Throughout this week we’ll be sharing fun and useful tips on how to improve and manage your mental health including free digital toolkits for you to download and share with your loved ones.

If you don’t already, you should follow us on our social media channels @ForHousing to keep up with everything we’re putting out!

We’ll also be sharing information about our services that will empower you to take control of your own happiness and make a big impact on your wellbeing.

We can’t wait to join in and celebrate just how important mental health is!
