Changes to our repairs service
From 1st June, we will be re-starting our routine repairs service. Everything that we do will be with the health and safety of you, your community, and our colleagues in mind.
If you’ve already logged a repair, then you don’t need to do anything. We’ll be in contact with you to arrange a date that works best for you. Please bear with us as we work through and catch up with the jobs reported over the last couple of months. It may take us a little longer than usual to complete non-essential repairs.
Our approach, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic has always followed the latest Government guidelines. Our decision to re-start routine repairs is supported by guidance from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
We want you to feel safe. If you have a repair currently booked in and you don’t feel comfortable with us coming into your home, please contact us. We can talk you through how we’ll be working in the safest way possible, or we can agree to cancel the repair until you feel happy for us to complete the work. Let us know so we can work together with you to come up with a solution.
If you, or someone in your household, are currently shielding, we will not carry out any non-essential work. We will only be working on essential repairs in these circumstances, following strict safety guidance. Additionally, if you are feeling unwell then please contact us as soon as possible so we can do the right thing, supporting you in the right way.
You may see us out and about from Monday 25th May, as we will be starting on external repairs and works.
We ask that if you have a non-essential repair to report that you allow us a few weeks before reaching out. This will help us clear the backlog more efficiently, meaning we can return to our standard service timescales sooner.
If you do have a repair that you need to report to us, the quickest and easiest way is through our MyAccount+ app. In only a few short clicks you can log your repair and get back to your day.
If you need a repair and are unsure of what category it is in, please message us through our live chat on the ForHousing website, email us on firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 0300 123 5522, and one of our friendly service centre advisors will be happy to help.
