We can only do this if we’ve got people with as much enthusiasm and passion as we have for making things happen.  The forfutures team are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic person to join our team as a Young Person’s Support Worker, based in our 24 hour Care Leaving Service

 

The Care Leavers Service is part of the forfutures service within the Group, which delivers support & accommodation for Care Leavers in Cheshire West and Chester in partnership with the Council. We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a support worker to join the team within our Care Leavers accommodation service.

 

This is a great development opportunity for somebody who wants to work within a social care setting to gain a wide range of experience. We are looking for somebody with empathy, organised and has a willingness to learn. For this role you will have an understanding of the issues affecting young people, knowledge and understanding of the Care Leavers Services within the local authority. and excellent communication skills. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, providing quality information, ensuring a positive experience for the young people and providing on site assurance and support. You will be solution focused and have an ability to problem solve issues and incidents involving the young people.

 

You will be flexible and be available to work a three week rolling rota including, evenings, weekends and sleep- ins.

 

For this role it would be beneficial if you hold an NVQ Level 2/3 in Social Care or equivalent but is not essential. An understanding of the support needs and the issues facing young people is essential for this role.

 

You will carry a case load with varied support requirements, you will be responsible for maintaining support documents, risk assessments and ultimately supporting the young person to find permanent accommodation.

 

You will work with external agencies forming a multi agency approach to provide the best service to the young person to meet their support needs.
