ForHousing is a social purpose business that positively impacts communities by reinvesting profits, building vibrant and safe communities. We know that together we achieve more so we work with a range of like-minded partners to deliver positive change in communities and improve lives.

Our forfutures division works with customers to prevent them finding themselves homeless. We’ll give advice, information and signpost to the support available from appropriate partners and agencies. This will cover a range of subjects including benefits, housing issues, anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse, offending, substance and alcohol misuse, mental health issues and learning disabilities as well as opportunities for learning and personal development.

We are now looking to recruit for a Somewhere Safe to Stay Worker to join the team at the Somewhere Safe to Stay Hub in Chester, supporting a rota of 24/7 working.

Supporting customers accessing the Somewhere Safe to Stay (SStS) Hub at the start of their pathway to rehousing, you will implement a triage process, complete assessments of need and develop housing and support plans for a cohort of customers; ensuring a safe environment offering a dignified service, with maximum customer engagement.

Completing assessments with each individual customer and developing a personal housing plan in conjunction with a colleague from the Housing Options service, you must support customers who stay in the ‘Sit Up’ provision in the Hub, ensuring that their stay is no longer than the maximum prescribed 72 hours before they move into suitable accommodation.

Candidates for this role should have an awareness of homelessness legislation and practice and of the challenges faced by and needs of people who are rough sleeping. With an understanding of the support needs and the issues facing our customers, a reasonable understanding of the benefit/welfare systems would be beneficial and you must be assertive, resilient and a team player.

As well as a generous holiday entitlement, we offer a range of benefits for a rewarding career including a pension scheme and staff discount club membership. We’ll also make sure you get the training and benefits you deserve.

ForHousing is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
