ForHousing is a different kind of landlord, helping to improve lives by providing quality homes and places. We strive to be a positive influence in all we do, by providing the building blocks to a better life and making more things possible for more people.
We are now looking to recruit a Peripatetic Housing Support and Resettlement Worker to join us to work alongside customers, using a person-centred approach to support them in practical tasks which will help to achieve the goals and outcomes as outlined in their support plans and risk assessments.
Engaging with customers on a one to one basis to support them in their journey towards accessing and maintaining independent accommodation, you will provide practical help and support in areas such as budgeting, nutrition, health care, life skills and applying for welfare benefits; building customer’s confidence, personal worth, motivation, emotional well-being and a positive work ethic.
Working collaboratively with the Change Co-ordinator in enabling customers to understand the impact and consequences of the decisions they make and the actions they take, you must engage with customers, helping them to access services and connect with their communities as a means to improve wellbeing and prospects of employment.
The successful candidate will have experience of providing care and/or support services within a social care setting (supported housing, care, nursing, residential) and hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle. An understanding of the support needs and the issues facing our customers is essential, as is a reasonable knowledge of the benefit/welfare systems.
In return, we offer a wide range of benefits for a rewarding career including:
· Competitive salary and a generous holiday entitlement
· Health Shield membership to claim back costs on a range of health and wellness services
· Company pension scheme
· Childcare vouchers
· Wellbeing perks and discounts with attractive savings on everything from travel to shopping
· Comprehensive learning and development platform to enhance and develop your skills
If this sounds like the opportunity for you, take a look at the job description, fill out the application online and we’ll meet up (virtually) if we want to find out more.
ForHousing is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community including those who wish to work part time or reduced hours.
