ForHousing is a forward-thinking social organisation that positively impacts communities. We're also proud to create opportunities that make things happen - for people, families, homes and communities. We're a busy team with lots to do. We can only achieve this if we've got the right resources so we look for people and partners with as much enthusiasm and passion as we have for making things happen.

Our forfutures division works with customers to prevent them finding themselves homeless. We’ll give advice, information and signpost to the support available from appropriate partners and agencies. This will cover a range of subjects including benefits, housing issues, anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse, offending, substance and alcohol misuse, mental health issues and learning disabilities as well as opportunities for learning and personal development.

We are now looking to recruit for two Housing First Support Workers to join the team at the Somewhere Safe to Stay Hub in Chester but working across the Cheshire West and Chester Borough.

Supporting customers accessing the Somewhere Safe to Stay (SStS) Hub and the Outreach service at the start of their pathway to rehousing, you will to provide flexible, open ended packages of support, advice and assistance to people who have been living on the streets so that they can access and maintain an independent tenancy in line with a Housing First approach.

Working with each individual customer establishing an open and trusted relationship and remaining as their single point of contact and support so that they access and maintain a safe, secure home of their own, you will use psychologically informed techniques which offer personalised, creative, innovate and effective support.

Candidates for this role should have an awareness of homelessness legislation and practice and of the challenges faced by and needs of people who are rough sleeping. With an understanding of the support needs and the issues facing our customers, a reasonable understanding of the benefit/welfare systems would be beneficial and you must be assertive, resilient and a team player.

As well as a generous holiday entitlement, we offer a range of benefits for a rewarding career including a pension scheme and staff discount club membership. We’ll also make sure you get the training and benefits you deserve.
