ForHousing is a social purpose business that positively impacts communities by reinvesting profits, building vibrant and safe communities. We know that together we achieve more so we work with a range of like-minded partners to deliver positive change in communities and improve lives.
We are currently looking to recruit a Housing First Support Worker to join the Team operating the Rapid Rehousing Pathway across the borough, on a Fixed Term Contract until June 2022.
This is a newly funded role to provide flexible, open ended packages of support, advice and assistance to people who have been living on the streets so they can access and maintain an independent tenancy in line with a Housing First approach.
Working closely with colleagues providing outreach and Rapid Rehousing Pathway support, you will work one to one with each individual customer establishing an open and trusted relationship and remaining as their single point of contact and support so that they access and maintain a safe, secure home of their own, you will use psychologically informed techniques which offer personalised, creative, innovate and effective support.
Candidates for this role should have an awareness of homelessness legislation and practice and of the challenges faced by and needs of people who are rough sleeping and will ideally hold a Level 2/3 in Social Care, or equivalent. With an understanding of the support needs and the issues facing our customers, a reasonable understanding of the benefit/welfare systems would be beneficial and you must be assertive, resilient and a team player.
A driving licence and access to your own vehicle is preferable as this role could potentially require regular travel across the borough.
As well as a generous holiday entitlement, we offer a range of benefits for a rewarding career including a pension scheme and staff discount club membership. We’ll also make sure you get the training and benefits you deserve.
ForHousing is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
Closing date: 30th September 2021 (may close earlier if sufficient applications have been received)
