ForHousing is a social purpose business that positively impacts communities by reinvesting profits, building vibrant and safe communities. We know that together we achieve more so we work with a range of like-minded partners to deliver positive change in communities and improve lives.

We are now looking to recruit a Skills Centre Assessor to be responsible for supporting the delivery of vocational construction courses in Bricklaying, Joinery, Tiling and Plastering (school age learners 13-16 years) for Key stage 3 and 4, ensuring the highest possible standards of achievement, whilst personal development and wellbeing is maintained.

You’ll work closely with internal partners and provide support to the Skills Centre Manager in establishing a range of construction related training programmes and packages, delivering a portfolio of courses to ensure they meet the learner’s needs.

With a good level of education to GCSE standard in Maths and English, you’ll hold a qualification in a vocational area, e.g., Brickwork, Carpentry, Joinery etc and will ideally hold your A1 / PTTLS or have a willing to work towards this. With current construction legislation knowledge and construction site experience, you’ll have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, working with a diverse range of learners. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office, particular Outlook, Excel and Word, you’ll ideally have experience of working with hard to reach groups, working in a supervisory capacity.

Due to the nature of the role, you must have a full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes. This role will also require alternate weekend working.

You will receive a competitive remuneration and generous benefits package, with the opportunity to choose additional flexible benefits including additional holiday and levels of healthcare. The roles are agile which means you have choice over where you work, whether that be in one of our collaboration spaces, in the community, a coffee shop or at home. This flexibility gives you the space to focus on balancing your work, your wellbeing and home life, as well as having a positive impact on the environment by travelling less. We welcome discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and ForHousing.
