Homes England funding secured for 185 new homes

ForHousing has become the first housing association in the North West to successfully secure funding through Homes England’s Social and Affordable Homes Programme (SAHP) 26–36,  supporting the construction of 185 new homes in Salford.

Following the approval of its grant bid, the social housing landlord will begin work on its first funded scheme at Green Lane, Cadishead. The development will deliver a mix of homes for social rent and shared ownership, helping to meet local housing need in Salford.

The initial allocation of funding will support five upcoming ForHousing developments, delivering 185 new homes in total – 173 for social rent and 12 for shared ownership. All homes will be built to high quality standards, supporting ForHousing’s commitment to providing safe, well-maintained affordable housing.

The funding marks an important milestone in the delivery of the ForHousing Homes Strategy, which focuses on increasing the supply of affordable homes, supporting local communities and contributing to long-term regeneration across Salford and the wider Greater Manchester area.
