The Council and ForHousing take your safety very seriously. To help to keep you and your neighbours safe we will be introducing a Communal Area Management Policy from May 2025.
How will this policy affect me?
Tenants, leaseholders and their visitors will not be permitted to use communal areas to store personal items such as decorative wall and floor items, bicycles, pushchairs, mobility scooters, wheelchairs, e-bikes and e-scooters.
Personal items left in communal area can:
- Contribute to the spread of fire
- Create accidental fires by their explosive nature
- Prevent or reduce your ability to escape in the event of fire
- Produce smoke
- Hinder or prevent Emergency Services access
- Injure people by causing trips and falls
We know that this may cause some inconvenience, however, these changes are happening to keep you and others safe from harm.
We want to hear your views about how this policy will affect you so as we can offer the right advice and support.
We would appreciate you reviewing the policy and completing the short survey to tell us how this policy will affect you.
