It’s Jan-YOU-ary, let’s get moving!

January may be seen as being a blue time of year, but it doesn’t have to be! Although the nights are still dark, and the sun doesn’t always shine, there’s lots of things you can do this Jan-YOU-ary to boost your wellbeing and look after your mental health.

This week we’re focussing on how moving your body can not only positively impact your physical health, but your mental health too.

Did you know, research has found that people who exercise regularly through activities such as running, cycling, swimming, and team sports are found to have less poor mental health days than people who don’t exercise at all?

If high-intensity exercise isn’t your thing, you could start your day off more slowly by doing some yoga or pilates exercises that could help build strength in your core.

However you choose to move your body this Jan-YOU-ary, why not set aside 30 minutes of time each day to exercise, and keep track of the difference in makes to your mood?

Let’s get moving together to beat the January blues!
