We’re taking part in the national celebrations for Black History Month 2020 to honour the too-often unheralded accomplishments of Black Britons in every area of endeavour throughout our history.
We challenge inequalities and make a difference to people’s lives, enabling more possibilities for more people. But lives don’t improve by chance, they improve by change.
We ask you to join us to honour the contribution made by Black Britons and actively celebrate Black History Month this October.
Follow us this month as we celebrate the enormous contribution black people have made to our vibrant and diverse society. Our culture has been enriched and our society has been made stronger because of the people who travelled here to build new lives in the UK, as well as the achievements and contributions of their descendants.
Check out the stories below for some of the people who helped shape Britain.
