Alternative formats and accessible information

At ForHousing, we want every tenant to be able to access and understand the information we provide. We know that people have different needs, and we are committed to offering information in ways that work for you.

This page explains the different formats, support options, and alternative ways you can get information including non-digital options if you prefer not to use the internet.

Our commitment

We follow the Regulator of Social Housing’s consumer standards and will take reasonable steps to ensure you can access information in a format that meets your needs.

Support for people who don't use the internet

You don’t need to be online to get information from us.

If you prefer to receive information offline or in person, we can provide:

  • Printed copies of any online information
  • Information explained over the phone
  • Postal updates and letters
  • Appointments at your local office – find out more on our “how to contact us page”
  • A home visit from your Housing Officer, if needed
  • Support from an advocate, carer or family member (with your permission)

Just tell us what works best for you.

Website accessibility

Our website includes features to support your accessibility needs:

Recite Me accessibility toolbar

Recite Me accessibility toolbar

You can change the text size, colours, fonts, layout, or use the read-aloud function.

To activate Recite Me, click on the small icon of the person at the bottom right of the screen. This will bring up a toolbar at the top of the screen which will show a range of features to help you use our website. If you used our old accessibility features, these have now been replaced with Recite Me.

Reasonable Adjustments

If you have a disability or health condition that affects how you receive or understand information, you can request a reasonable adjustment. This could include receiving information in a specific format, or through a different communication method.

Visit our Reasonable Adjustments page to learn more about the support available.
